Lockdown: The Virtual World and your Legal Career

Covid-19 Legal Survey

Without doubt, the coronavirus pandemic is having a life changing effect on how we, as individuals, as employees and as employers, view the world in which we work.

Pre-CV-19 lockdown, I can honestly say a good percentage of the people I spoke with would tell me that their employers either frowned upon homeworking, offered it only when absolutely necessary or didn’t offer it all – and worryingly some businesses were not set up to offer it!

Since mid-March, everyone in the UK has been pushed into the virtual world.  Video meetings, interviews and calls are now the norm.  For some, this was a completely new and alien concept, for others the transition was simple.

Now if we want to see loved ones, it’s a video call and a virtual hug, or Zoom calls with groups of friends for a catch up and a cold one!  It is definitely taking some getting used to, though thank goodness for technology helping us to escape the lockdown enabling everyone to see friendly, smiling faces.

So now we are 5 weeks in, we would love to know, how are you finding working from home?

We have put together a short questionnaire to ask your views on homeworking and how the current situation is affecting you.

If you could please spare 3 or 4 minutes to complete the survey it would be greatly appreciated, and the results will be published here (all responses are 100% anonymous and confidential).

Thank you.
